Elna Maternity was a sanctuary in southern France, founded in 1939 by Swiss volunteer nurse Elisabeth Eidenbenz. Until the Gestapo closed it in 1944, it saved over 600 babies born to refugee women — mostly Spanish Republican and Jewish, fleeing internment camps and Nazism — offering them dignity and medical care.
We took the name because it holds the standard we build to: trust earned through care, under pressure, when it matters most. That is what we ask clinicians and institutions to place in our infrastructure, and what we intend to deserve.
Pau and Martina previously worked together at Alinia AI, building and shipping guardrail infrastructure for production LLM systems. They founded Elna Health together in November 2025.

AI/ML expert focused on safe AI systems, SaaS products, and clinical AI infrastructure. PhD in Computational Physics (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), Post-Doc in Stem Cell Research (University of Cambridge), MSc in Bioinformatics (Universitat Pompeu Fabra). Previously Founding Member & Head of AI Research and Engineering at Alinia AI, VP of AI at Infermedica, Director of Data and ML at Typeform, and roles at Schibsted and Telefónica. At Elna, leads strategy, AI architecture, and go-to-market.
Martina Pagura
CPO / Co-founder
Product and UX leader with 15+ years guiding teams across startups and corporations — HP, Telefónica, Cookpad, Koa Health — including deep healthcare experience building digital product strategy for Novo Nordisk, Coloplast, and LEO Pharma. Masters in Interaction Design (Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design) and Product and Interaction Design (Università Iuav di Venezia). Previously Head of Product & UX at Alinia AI, Product Design Manager at Koa Health, Head of Product Design Innovation at Cookpad. At Elna, owns product vision, clinical UX, and the end-to-end roadmap.
